Flying Raccoon Suit

With members of a variety of musical backgrounds, Flying Raccoon Suit plays a style of ska that is completely their own – influenced by metal, jazz, and indie rock, with dual lead vocalists and a powerful horn section who, combined, produce songs ranging from melodic and soulful to raucous and punk, and everything in between.

The band began as a group of friends in high school who released and toured in support of their debut album “Paper Airplanes” in 2012 before becoming inactive a couple of years later. In 2016, the band hit the ground running again in a new form, with a changed lineup, and released their second album. Since then, the band has continued to not only build on their momentum, but to organize and promote shows in an area typically devoid of alternative music genres, even hosting an annual “Summer Ska Series” in their home state of Mississippi to bring more of the music they love to the area. The group has recently finished recording their third and most ambitious album to date.
